It was the same weekend as some big Alabama football game, and we could all go to the game as well.  He told me our families could meet each other...Johnny could find us some instruments, and we'd have a good time.  I didn't hesitate.  I said 'sure.' "

As word spread about the "Rambler Reunion, things began to happen.

Reunion, things began to happen.

"People begin to hear about our little reunion and wanted to come listen.  It started to get out of hand," said Johnny Robinson.

"I realized in a hurry that we couldn't fit everyone that wanted to come in my little music room.  We rented the Birmingham Elks Lodge, and ultimately over 400 friends and old Rambler supporters showed up."

"I knew something was going on when Johnny called and asked if I could come over on Thursday to practice.  Practice!  We hadn't practiced since 1964! "said Sanders.

The Ramblers called on Jim Burford to play lead guitar, an accomplished Birmingham guitarist and vocalist who played guitar and sang with Chip's younger brother, Steve Sanders during high school. Spook flew in to play bass along with local Terrell brother, Eddie.
